Coffee Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Coffee Technician to support and maintain coffee standards across all operations. This role is responsible for equipment calibration and maintenance, coffee quality support, and technical assistance to bar and production teams. The Coffee Technician ensures that every cup served meets quality, consistency, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Coffee Quality & Calibration

• Calibrate espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment
• Dial in espresso and brew recipes to maintain consistency and flavor standards
• Conduct regular quality checks and extractions
• Support cupping sessions and coffee evaluations
• Assist in new coffee launches and menu development

Equipment & Technical Support

• Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and preventative maintenance
• Troubleshoot basic technical and performance issues
• Coordinate with suppliers or service providers for major repairs
• Install, test, and set up new coffee equipment
• Maintain service logs and maintenance records

Operations Support

• Support roastery and production operations when required
• Monitor coffee freshness, storage, and handling procedures
• Optimize bar workflow, equipment layout, and efficiency
• Ensure water quality and filtration systems are properly maintained

Training & Standards

• Train staff on equipment use, calibration basics, and daily care
• Develop and maintain SOPs related to coffee equipment and quality
• Support skill development of baristas and supervisors

Qualifications & Requirements

• Proven experience in specialty coffee or commercial coffee operations
• Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, grinders, and brewing systems
• Experience maintaining professional coffee equipment
• Good technical understanding and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and quality
• Ability to work independently and manage schedules
• Willingness to travel between branches if required
• Coffee or technical certifications are an advantage
