Cofounder & Content Lead

Project Bihar is a regional intelligence and storytelling platform focused on Bihar (emphasis on Mithila region). We're building a data-driven content ecosystem that highlights untold stories, holds power accountable, and creates a digital hub for Bihar's changemakers - from IAS officers to entrepreneurs, ancient heritage to modern startups.

We're looking for a co-founder to build this from the ground up. You'll own content strategy, research, production, and community building while earning equity in the platform.

THIS IS NOT A TRADITIONAL JOB:

• No salary for the first 6-9 months (equity-based only)
• You'll work hours/week to build this page along with us
• You'll transition to paid co-founder role (₹25-30K/month) once we hit growth milestones
• You'll own Significant % of everything we build

This is for someone who wants to BUILD something meaningful, not just get a job or internship certificate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Research & Intelligence (40% of time)

• Research notable personalities from Bihar: IAS/IPS officers, entrepreneurs, scientists, artists, writers, activists
• Build databases of startups, achievements, historical facts, current initiatives
• Conduct interviews (email/DM/calls) with changemakers and policymakers
• Track policy changes, budget allocations, development metrics across Bihar regions
• Dig through archives, government data, academic papers for untold stories

Content Production (50% of time)

• Create 5-7 posts per week:
• Reels (30-60 sec investigative/emotional narratives)
• Carousels (8-10 slide data-driven deep-dives)
• Single Posts (heritage, quotes, announcements)
• Write scripts, source/shoot footage, edit reels (CapCut/InShot)
• Design carousels in Canva (data visualizations, infographics)
• Maintain content calendar: 60-65% Mithila focus, 35-40% other Bihar regions
• Build content bank (always 2 weeks ahead)

Platform & Community Management (10% of time)

• Manage Instagram and Twitter/X (posting, scheduling, engagement)
• Respond to DMs and comments, build follower relationships
• Track metrics: engagement rate, save rate, share rate, follower growth
• Weekly performance analysis and strategy adjustments

REQUIREMENTS

Must Have:

• Current college student (2nd/3rd/4th year) or recent graduate (within 6 months)
• From Bihar or deeply connected to the region (preferably Mithila areas)
• Can commit hours & week for minimum 6 months
• Financially able to work without salary for 6-9 months.
• Basic content creation experience (any format: social media, articles, videos, college work)
• Writing skills (clear, engaging, grammatically sound)
• Basic video editing (CapCut, InShot, or willing to learn)
• Design basics (Canva or willing to learn)
• Strong research skills

Mindset:

• Care about Bihar's development and regional representation
• Ownership mentality (don't wait to be told what to do)
• Comfortable with accountability content that questions status quo
• Long-term commitment (12-24 months, not a 3-month project)
• Can work independently with minimal supervision
