The Gottesman Libraries seeks a Collections Acquisition and Metadata Librarian who plays a key role in strengthening research holdings in education, psychology, and the applied health sciences to meet the needs of Teachers College.
Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Collections Acquisition and Metadata Librarian manages patron-driven and selected standing orders for print and electronic book acquisitions. Oversees ordering, processing, labeling, shifting, and weeding workflows, as well as cataloging and bibliographic metadata management. Guides and implements relevant policies, practices, standards, and metadata schemas to enhance the representation and discoverability of the collection across local, community, and global systems.
The incumbent collaborates across library technical services and works closely with other library units on collection development needs and projects that improve the organization, description, and access to library holdings. In doing so, the role supports the strategic priorities of the Library and the College, with a particular emphasis on advancing leadership in digital library technologies.
