Collections Administrator / Paralegal – South Burlington, VT


Vermont Federal Credit Union is recruiting for a Collections Administrator / Paralegal out of our South Burlington Operations Center. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding attention to detail, communication skills as well as the ability to provide outstanding service to both internal and external customers.

Hourly Range: $24.14 - $36.21

Job Description:

  • Handles all small claims, legal documents and bankruptcy administration as well as acts as a liaison with attorneys.
  • Processes charge off accounts, tracking/skip tracing, repossession and auction process and updates member accounts. Includes the processing of insurance claims.
  • Puts together regular reporting for the collections department as well as logging, reporting, and maintaining accounts within core system and collections system with accuracy.
  • Supports the collections team through daily work with accounting, teller transactions, letters, and customer research.

Requirements:

  • Two to four years of legal professional experience.
  • High School diploma with some college or work experience, preferably in financial services and/or collections industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as a strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with excel and Microsoft word are a requirement.
