An incumbent may perform any combination of the below listed accountabilities:
1. Leads, develops, and manages onboarding and orientation programs for newly hired employees. Includes collaboration with senior leaders in all divisions to develop appropriate content. Also includes collaboration with the Center for Creative Instruction and Technology for delivery of content and tracking through a learning management system.
2. Organizes, develops, manages, and coordinates all aspects of the collegewide Supervisory Training Program, including presentation development and revision. Tracks participation and completion for annual recognition.
3. Organizes, develops, manages, and coordinates all aspects of the collegewide Emerging Leaders Academy, including the application and selection process, senior leadership coordination and participation, presentation development and revision. Serves as the primary collegewide lead for program participants, including tracking and assessing required participation.
4. Organizes, develops, manages, and coordinates all aspects of the College’s semi-annual professional development days.
5. Organizes, develops, manages, and coordinates all aspects of the College’s New Faculty Development program in collaboration with the Center for Creative Instruction and Technology and Academic Affairs.
6. Organizes and coordinates orientation and training events to support the College’s new department leadership in collaboration with Academic Affairs. Oversees updates to the LMS content in collaboration with the Center for Creative Instruction and Technology and Academic Affairs.
7. Organizes, develops, manages, and coordinates all aspects of the College’s administrator retreats.
8. Serves as a member of the collegewide Equity Committee to participate and collaborate on initiatives like the annual equity summit and to ensure that all professional development and training opportunities are inclusive of the College’s DEI initiatives.
9. Oversees the coordination of all administrative logistics associated with professional development workshops, programs and training including, but not limited to, coordinating and vetting proposals and presenters, scheduling speakers, managing room reservations, posting portal announcements, participant tracking, and participant recognition.
10. Oversees the College’s performance evaluation system, forms, and tools for all salary plans, and provides training for supervisors on how to conduct effective performance evaluations. Researches, recommends and develops updated evaluation tools for managers and employees, which are aligned with the College’s professional development goals. Responsible for the distribution and collection of the Office of the President annual performance evaluation for all Salary Plans. Reviews forms for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
11. Recommends, develops, manages, organizes, updates, facilitates and evaluates any other professional development and assigned training as needed. Uses assessment tools and data to guide future offerings.
12. Participates in College meetings and serves on collegewide committees.
13. Researches and recommends updates to senior leadership about revisions to current professional development and training opportunities and initiating new ones when College priorities change and/or when trends in higher education and community college education shift. Provides updated employee professional development goals for consideration, annually.
14. Researches best practices in human resources as related to professional development and training, including analyzing the information and providing recommendations as assigned by the vice president for human resources and/or vice president for strategic recruitment and engagement. Assists with drafting and/or revising policies or procedures as assigned. Conducts special projects/studies and prepares reports as needed.
15. Plans, assigns, reviews, and evaluates the work of professional, technical, and support staff.
16. Performs other related duties as required.
