This position provides high level administrative and clerical support to the Professional Standards Unit. Responsible for preparing investigative packages, conducting research, preparing statistical reports, and responding to public information requests. Performs clerical duties including preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. This class works according to broad policy and organizational guidelines with minimal supervision.
The tasks below are those that represent the majority of time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional related tasks as necessary.
Associate's degree plus a minimum of four (4) years of paid experience as an executive level assistant or equivalent position.

High School diploma plus a minimum of six (6) years of paid experience as an executive level assistant or equivalent position.
Requires excellent written and verbal skills.
Requires strong organizational and time management skills.
Requires the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in MS Office.
Work is performed in an office environment. Employees may have occasional contact with inmates.
Work is primarily completed during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8 am-5 pm) with occasional after-hours. May include nights, weekends, or holidays as required to meet operational needs.
Note: This position is currently located in Titusville and is anticipated to relocate to Viera in 2027.
Successful completion of a criminal background investigation including polygraph, reference/employment/neighborhood checks. submit to screening for illegal drug use prior to assuming position and will be subject to return to duty, post-accident and/or random and reasonable suspicion drug tests while employed with BCSO.
