Job Summary
The Commerce Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in Business Studies, Economics, and Accounting, fostering conceptual clarity, analytical thinking, and practical application among students. The role requires strong subject expertise, effective classroom management, and a commitment to academic excellence and student development.
Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Teaching Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver structured lessons in Business Studies, Economics, and Accounting in line with the prescribed curriculum.
- Ensure clear explanation of concepts, principles, and real-world applications.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching aids, presentations, and worksheets.
- Conduct regular assessments, tests, and examinations; evaluate answer scripts and provide constructive feedback.
- Support students in exam preparation, projects, case studies, and assignments.
Student Development
- Identify individual learning needs and provide academic support or remediation where required.
- Encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Maintain discipline and create a positive, inclusive classroom environment.
Academic Administration
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and academic progress.
- Participate in academic planning, curriculum development, and faculty meetings.
- Coordinate with academic heads, counselors, and parents regarding student performance.
Professional Responsibilities
- Stay updated with syllabus changes, examination patterns, and modern teaching methodologies.
- Participate in training programs, workshops, and institutional activities.
- Uphold institutional policies, ethical standards, and professional conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification (B.Ed. or equivalent) is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 1–3 years of teaching experience in Commerce subjects preferred.
- Freshers with strong subject knowledge and teaching aptitude may also be considered.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong command over Business Studies, Economics, and Accounting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a simple and practical manner.
- Classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Proficiency in using digital tools, LMS platforms, and online teaching methods is an advantage.
