Key Qualifications & Experience

Education & Professional Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Commercial Management, or Business Administration.
• Master’s degree (MBA or MSc in Construction/Project Management) is highly desirable.
• Professional certifications (highly preferred):
• MRICS / FRICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
• MCIOB (Member of the Chartered Institute of Building)
• Chartered Quantity Surveyor (CQS) or equivalent
• PMP or equivalent project management certification (advantageous)

Experience:

• 12–20+ years of progressive experience in commercial management within large construction, infrastructure, or EPC organizations.
• Demonstrated success managing high-value projects (USD 50M+ / QAR 200M+).
• Experience across both pre-contract and post-contract phases.
• Strong preference for candidates with GCC experience (Qatar, KSA, UAE).

Core Commercial Expertise:

• Contract administration (FIDIC Red, Yellow, and Silver Books).
• Claims management, variations, extensions of time, and dispute resolution.
• Cost control, cash-flow forecasting, cost value reconciliations (CVRs), and financial reporting.
• Procurement strategy development, subcontractor negotiation, and contract awards.
• Risk identification, mitigation, and implementation of commercial governance.
• Value engineering and cost optimization initiatives.
