Commercial Baking and Pastry Arts Teacher

Applications are being accepted for the position of Commercial Baking and Pastry Chef Instructor for our 1601 W. Main Street, Mesa AZ 85201 campus location. This position will work Monday to Friday 7:30-4:00.

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Commercial Baking and Pastry Arts Instructor prepares students to gain employment as a baker, pastry chef, or business owner. Instruction focuses on making cookies, cakes, chocolate confections, tarts, breads, and plated desserts. Students in this program will also have the opportunity to advance into cake decorating, pastries, plate painting, individual desserts, and wedding cakes. Our programs are the only high school culinary and baking programs in Arizona accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation.

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt. 10-Month Calendar

Salary: $50,651.00 - $84,636.03 Placement in the range will be based on a combination of education, industry related experience, teaching experience, and certification.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of industry experience.
• Ability to obtain an Arizona Department of Education Secondary or Career & Technical Education (CTE) Certification in the area of Family & Consumer Sciences https://www.azed.gov/educator-certification/forms-and-information/certificates.
• Valid Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card through Arizona Department of Public Safety.
• Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) if born after January 1, 1957.
