Job Summary:
The Commercial Director will lead the commercial and contractual functions of the company, overseeing all commercial aspects of EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects in the water and wastewater sector. The role requires strong experience in project contracts, risk management, tendering, and client negotiation, ensuring the commercial success and profitability of the company’s operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with company goals and growth plans.

Lead the commercial team and collaborate with project, finance, and legal departments to ensure alignment across business functions.

Advise executive management on commercial risks, opportunities, and market trends in the water & wastewater sector.

Review, negotiate, and manage EPC contracts, subcontracts, and supplier agreements (FIDIC or equivalent).

Ensure contractual compliance throughout all project phases, from bid to execution and close-out.

Mitigate contractual risks and manage claims, variations, and dispute resolution processes.

Oversee preparation of commercial proposals and cost estimates for bids and tenders.

Lead commercial negotiations with clients, partners, and subcontractors.

Support business development in identifying new opportunities and partnerships.

Manage project budgets, cash flow, and profitability analyses.
-
Provide commercial input for project forecasting, invoicing, and payment follow-ups.

Ensure compliance with company financial policies and reporting requirements.

Establish risk management frameworks and ensure compliance with corporate governance standards.

Evaluate potential risks in new contracts and propose mitigation strategies.

Maintain adherence to all legal, contractual, and regulatory obligations.
Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Quantity Surveying, or related field (Master’s preferred).

Minimum
15 years of experience
in commercial management, including at least
7 years in leadership roles
within EPC projects.

Proven experience in
water & wastewater infrastructure projects
.

Strong knowledge of
FIDIC
and other standard contract forms used in EPC environments.

Excellent negotiation, leadership, and communication skills.

Strong financial and analytical acumen.

Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
