Commercial Engineer - Railway Project

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Engineer with strong railway, metro, or large-scale transportation infrastructure project experience to oversee commercial, contractual, and cost management functions across major rail projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in FIDIC contracts, claims management, budgeting, procurement coordination, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of railway or metro projects from tender through project closeout.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Review and administer FIDIC and other contract frameworks.
• Lead variation orders, claims, and dispute resolution processes.
• Coordinate with procurement, project controls, and engineering teams.
• Monitor project profitability, cash flow, and risk management.
• Support tender submissions, bid evaluations, and subcontractor negotiations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 8+ years of commercial/project controls experience in railway, metro, or transportation infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of FIDIC contracts and claims management.
• GCC or international rail project experience preferred (Etihad Rail, Dubai Metro, Riyadh Metro, Qatar Rail, etc.).
• Proficiency in cost control software, ERP systems, and MS Office.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• MRICS, PMP, or equivalent certification is an advantage.
• Experience with EPC, design-build, or PMC rail projects.
• Knowledge of local GCC regulations and infrastructure procurement practices.
