Job Title: Commercial Financial Analyst

Company: Taskaler

Location: Pakistan, Lahore, Model Town

Job Type: Full-Time

Company Overview: Taskaler is a leading offshore outsourcer offering end-to-end retail-driven services. We provide our brands with a wide range of bespoke retail and eCommerce solutions, including customer experience, back office, and digital support. We are committed to operational excellence and exceptional client experiences. As a growing company, we are seeking a Commercial Financial Analyst to join our talented team.

Job Summary: The Commercial Financial Analyst provides hands-on analytical and operational support to the finance function, focusing on financial modelling, forecasting, and preparing commercial insights for business units. The role is primarily administrative and model-building in nature, ensuring data, templates, and forecasts are accurate, consistent, and ready for decision-making. This role does not require an accounting qualification, but strong data literacy and financial modelling capability are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Forecasting, Budgeting & Planning

  • Support preparation of annual budgets, quarterly re-forecasts, and long-range plans.
  • Maintain and update forecast and budget templates, including structural changes and roll-forward requirements.
  • Build and manage driver-based forecast models (e.g., customer volume × customer spend) rather than simple percentage-uplift forecasting.
  • Curate and prepare data in the correct format for Data Rails, ensuring models connect cleanly to the platform.

Financial Modelling & Business Partner Support

  • Take briefs from business unit leads and convert them into robust, scalable financial models including time-series models that integrate with Data rails.
  • Develop models to evaluate revenue drivers, cost structures, product development initiatives, partnership opportunities, and commercial scenarios.
  • Prepare P&L and base files for each business unit and ensure consistent roll-forward processes.
  • Support analysis of P&L variances and provide clear, concise explanations and commercial insights.

Data Management & Administrative Support

  • Implement changes to templates (forecasting, budgeting, reporting).
  • Ensure data is structured and validated to support accurate modelling.
  • Collaborate with the Data Analyst where more complex data extraction or transformation is required, but own the ongoing commercial data admin and shaping work.
  • Maintain clear documentation of model logic, drivers, assumptions, and template changes.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential

  • Strong financial modelling capability, with solid Excel/Google Sheets proficiency.
  • Data literate — confident in manipulating data, building models, and validating inputs.
  • Experience in FP&A, commercial finance, or an analytical role with exposure to forecasting or modelling.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous briefs into structured models and actionable insights.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly in explaining model outputs to non-finance stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical thinking.

Preferred

  • Experience with forecasting tools such as Data rails (or similar platforms) is advantageous but not essential.
  • Previous experience within the FMCG, Retail, or Manufacturing sectors.
  • Familiarity with driver-based commercial modelling.
  • Experience supporting multiple business units or product lines.

What Success Looks Like

  • Accurate, timely roll-forward models and templates ready for forecasting cycles.
  • Well-structured, driver-based financial models aligned with business unit requirements.
  • Clean, validated data sets that fit the Data rails format.
  • Clear modelling outputs that help commercial leaders make faster, better decisions.
  • Strong working relationships with business unit leads, the finance team, and data teams
