- The FP&A Commercial analyst reports to the Head of Regional FP&A and works closely with the Commercial Navigator, creating an impact by providing high value adding analysis to the Commercial organization
- Supports the Commercial Navigator in generating insights, particular in the area of margin managament, OPEX, TWC and CAPEX monitoring
- Supports the global FP&A Commercial processes, like planning and budgeting that support the strategic objectives of AkzoNobel
- Supports continuous improvements and standardization initiatives
- FP&A ownership of the full P&L, Working Capital, Commercial Capex and Balance Sheet Provisions relating to the P&L Lines (Budgeting, Rolling Forecast, Month End Close, Analysis, Presentations)
- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Partnering with the business navigators in preparation of budget and rolling forecast
- Presenting relevant analysis for the budget and rolling forecast
- Preparation of the management decks
- Ensuring correct and timely system loads of the budget and forecasted numbers
- Month End Close
- Start review of the month end numbers in the last week of the month
- Engage with accounting and R2R team to understand the correctness of accruals and any accruals impacting the month end result. Also understand any one-offs impacting month end results.
- Prepare flash P&L comments and month end close presentations
- Management Reporting & Analysis (Margin)
- Customer level, Product level and country level margin analysis during budgeting, forecasting and month end process
- Calculating price, volume, mix impact per product/customer/country and highlights areas for margin improvement.
- Identify variances from Standard COGS and Non-Standard COGS
- Closely collaborate with VMC CoE for COGS forecast and actuals
- Effectively use IBP and FLM data for revenue forecast and analysis
- Take active part in demand review meetings and understand the business
- Providing comments and insights on performance – along with recommendations.
- Chartered Accountant/ICWA (Max 3 Attempts) or MBA from Top 20 B schools
- 6+ years’ experience in a similar role/field.
- You are ambitious and see this function as part of your development to become an all-round Finance professional in AkzoNobel.
- You are curious, eager to learn and always searching for improvement opportunities (process wise)
- You have affinity for numbers and systems, and have strong analytical skills combined with a critical, but constructive, attitude
- Experience in building automated reports and models is a must; excellent financial and analytical skills
- Strong HFM, ERP (preferable SAP) and BI systems experience
- Strong analytic skills and the ability to analyze, organize, summarize and articulate complex financial information for decision making
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including ability to articulate recommendations in a concise and timely manner
- Able to prioritize and work with multiple supervisors
- Strong ‘can-do’ mentality and ‘drive’ to accomplish tasks in an environment with multiple stakeholders
