Commercial HVAC Journeyman Electrician - 5+ years experience

Armock Mechanical Contractors is family owned and operated and has been in business for over 40 years. As West Michigan's leading mechanical and design build company, we are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to work closely with our Master Electrician in supporting electrical installations, configuration, and maintenance of electrical and control systems that power our advanced commercial HVAC solutions for commercial HVAC and building automation projects. Primary Responsibilities (Immediate):

• Assist in the installation and integration of HVAC control systems, including sensors, actuators, controllers, control panels, Cat5 wiring and communication networks for commercial and industrial applications.
• Bend and install EMT, IMC, and rigid conduit; pull wire and perform high-quality terminations.
• Interpret and execute tasks from wiring diagrams, and layout drawings with minimal supervision.
• Perform all work in accordance with NEC, NFPA, OSHA and company standards.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues related to HVAC equipment and control systems.
• Support the Master Electrician on larger or more complex installations, providing skilled assistance and problem-solving.
• Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines and service needs.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support team goals and project completion.
• Maintain strong customer professionalism, representing Armock Mechanical in the field.

Future Growth Opportunities:

• Advanced troubleshooting of HVAC communication networks and automation systems.
• BAS (Building Automation) installation, integration, and programming exposure.
• Functional testing, diagnostics, and system optimization using specialized software tools.
• Assisting in control system installations on larger, more complex projects.

Requirements:

• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel to job sites throughout West Michigan.
• Preferred – 5+ years of electrical experience especially in the commercial HVAC industry.
• Journeyman Electrician License or technical training in controls (preferred).
• Ability to work independently or within a team.
• Strong conduit bending, wiring, and termination skills.
• Familiarity with low-voltage systems, control panels, relay logic, and conduit installation.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Comfortable using laptops, meters, and diagnostic tools.
• Willingness to learn, grow, and expand your skill set in HVAC controls and automation.
• Positive attitude, reliable work ethic, and a team-focused mindset
