Looking to hire a Strategic Commercial Leader with a proven track record in managing the full contract lifecycle after award, particularly in claims, variations, and final account closure.

About Organization: A private organization in the Kingdom that is involved in key capital projects and the developments are mixed use with a focus on a high level of finish to the properties being constructed.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Essential: 15+ years of progressive experience in a commercial, contracts, or quantity surveying role within major construction fields.
- Essential: Demonstrable, hands-on experience in the full post-award contract cycle, with a strong emphasis on claims preparation/defense, variation management, and final account negotiation.
- Essential: Proven experience in setting and executing post-award contracting strategy.
- A chartered status (e.g., MRICS, CIArb) or equivalent is highly desirable.
- Proven leadership experience, managing teams and interfacing with senior executives.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and dispute resolution skills.
- International project experience is required; Middle East experience is a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post-Award Contract Management: Lead the commercial and contractual management of major contracts, ensuring compliance and protecting the client's interests.
- Claims Management: Expertly manage, prepare, defend, and negotiate complex claims (EOT, additional costs) from inception to resolution.
- Change Management: Develop and implement robust change management processes, managing variations and change orders to ensure accurate valuation and entitlement.
- Contractual Strategy: Advise on and implement post-award contracting strategies, including dispute resolution and risk mitigation plans.
- Final Account Closure: Drive the timely and successful negotiation and closure of final accounts.
- Leadership & Reporting: Lead and mentor a team of commercial professionals. Prepare and present detailed commercial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for contractors, clients, and internal project teams, fostering collaborative relationships while firmly protecting commercial positions.
