Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Painter / Painting Technician to join our team. This hands-on role involves applying primer and finish coatings to metal surfaces using spray equipment in a shop environment. You’ll contribute directly to the final quality of fabricated components before shipment or installation.

This is a full-time position with competitive wages and a full benefits package.

Key Responsibilities

· Spray primer and finish coats to metal surfaces following internal specifications

· Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or masking as needed

· Maintain and clean spray guns, and related equipment

· Perform daily pre-start checks on painting equipment

· Complete all required project documentation and quality records

· Load and secure finished parts onto flatbed trailers or trucks

· Operate a forklift safely (training provided if necessary)

· Follow all safety protocols including use of PPE (respirators, goggles, steel-toe boots, etc.)

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

· Support other duties as assigned by the Paint Shop Manager

Qualifications

· Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial or commercial painting (spray application)

· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs; frequent lifting of 25–50 lbs

· Able to stand for extended periods and work in physical positions (kneeling, crouching, reaching)

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

· Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Skills

· Experience painting steel or fabricated metal components

· Familiarity with paint mixing and coating thickness requirements

· Previous work in a fabrication or manufacturing setting

· Ability to maintain accurate inventory of paint and supplies
