Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial refrigeration equipment including walk-in coolers, freezers, display cases, and ammonia refrigeration systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning/Refrigeration) diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively.
• Perform HVAC design modifications and plumbing repairs related to refrigeration systems to optimize performance.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on refrigeration units, air conditioning systems, boilers, and other mechanical equipment.
• Utilize tools such as ohmmeters and welding equipment to repair electrical components and mechanical parts accurately.
• Document all service activities thoroughly in logs or reports; communicate clearly with clients regarding repairs needed or completed.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards including proper handling of refrigerants like ammonia and adherence to property maintenance protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician specializing in commercial refrigeration or HVAC/R systems.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair, welding, plumbing, and boiler operation.
• Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans efficiently.
• Familiarity with field service procedures including appliance repair and property maintenance tasks.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> drivers or similar vehicles preferred.
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems and safety protocols for handling hazardous materials.
• Proficiency with testing tools such as ohmmeters; experience with electrical troubleshooting is essential.
• Ability to work independently in the field while managing multiple service calls effectively. Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
