Position Summary

The Commercial Roofer installs, repairs, and maintains commercial roofing systems according to project specifications and company standards. This role involves working with roofing materials, waterproofing systems, and structural components to ensure safe, high-quality installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install new commercial roofing systems and roofing materials.
• Inspect roofs to identify damage or maintenance needs.
• Assist in measuring roof surfaces and estimating required materials.
• Repair existing roofing systems and replace damaged materials.
• Replace structural components such as plywood, joists, or decking when necessary.
• Transport materials, tools, and equipment to job sites.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow company safety standards and jobsite procedures.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.
• Provide professional interactions that promote excellent customer service.
• Report equipment issues or safety concerns to the Foreman or Project Manager.
• Identify potential jobsite issues that could impact safety or project timelines.
• Represent Scenic Commercial Roofing with professionalism to customers and the community.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not include supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

To perform this role successfully, candidates must be able to complete essential duties safely and effectively.

Required

• Minimum 1 year of roofing experience
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail
• Good organizational skills
• Reliable work ethic

Preferred

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of commercial roofing materials and installation methods

Skills

Communication

• Clear verbal communication and the ability to work collaboratively with team members and supervisors.

Mathematics

• Basic math skills to measure roof areas and calculate materials.

Problem Solving

• Ability to identify issues and contribute to effective solutions on the jobsite.

Certifications / Licenses

No certifications or licenses are required for this position.

Physical Requirements

This role requires physical activity typical of construction and roofing work.

Employees must be able to:

• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb ladders for extended periods
• Work at heights on commercial buildings
• Lift up to 50 pounds regularly
• Move materials up to 100 pounds using equipment such as dollies or wheelbarrows
• Work in outdoor environments that may include heat, cold, or inclement weather

Work Environment

• Job sites may include multi-story commercial buildings.
• Work may take place indoors or outdoors.
• Roofing work will be performed on buildings of varying heights.

• Starting Pay: $20.00 per hour

Employees may occasionally be asked to work on holidays depending on project needs, with increased holiday pay.

• Paid Time Off:
