We are seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will support senior chefs in daily food preparation, maintain high standards of hygiene, and be eager to learn and develop their skills within a professional kitchen.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking

• Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and food standards accurately.
• Prepare mise en place for assigned sections (cutting, chopping, marinating, portioning, etc.).
• Support the smooth running of the kitchen during service.

Kitchen Operations

• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of workstations and equipment.
• Store food items properly, ensuring correct labelling, rotation, and temperature control.
• Assist in receiving, checking, and storing deliveries.
• Report any issues, shortages, or equipment faults to supervisors.

Team Support

• Work closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to ensure efficient workflow.
• Follow instructions and learn new techniques to develop culinary skills.
• Support colleagues in other kitchen sections as needed.

Hygiene & Safety

• Follow all HACCP and food safety standards.
• Ensure proper hand hygiene, uniform standards, and safe food-handling practices.
• Keep all tools and equipment clean and in good condition.

Requirements

• Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
• Strong willingness to learn and grow in a professional kitchen.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and teamwork attitude.
• Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is an advantage.
