Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in basic food preparation (e.g., chopping vegetables, marinating, portioning ingredients).
- Support senior chefs with cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes.
- Ensure mise en place (ingredients and tools) is ready before each service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations at all times.
- Follow standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
- Handle and store food items properly to prevent spoilage or contamination.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and utensils after use.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations (HACCP or equivalent).
- Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
- Carry out tasks assigned by the Chef de Partie or Kitchen Supervisor efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent (culinary diploma preferred).
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- 0–1 year of experience in a kitchen or food production environment preferred.
- Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
