Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in basic food preparation (e.g., chopping vegetables, marinating, portioning ingredients).
  • Support senior chefs with cooking, plating, and presentation of dishes.
  • Ensure mise en place (ingredients and tools) is ready before each service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations at all times.
  • Follow standard recipes, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
  • Handle and store food items properly to prevent spoilage or contamination.
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and utensils after use.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations (HACCP or equivalent).
  • Assist in receiving, checking, and storing kitchen supplies and deliveries.
  • Carry out tasks assigned by the Chef de Partie or Kitchen Supervisor efficiently and accurately.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (culinary diploma preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • 0–1 year of experience in a kitchen or food production environment preferred.
  • Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
