Location: Brix Café, Jumeirah

Position Overview
Brix Café, known for its premium pastries and high-quality dessert craftsmanship, is seeking a dedicated Commis 3 Baker to support its bakery and pastry production team. The ideal candidate will assist in preparing baked goods, follow established recipes, maintain high standards of hygiene, and ensure consistent quality under the supervision of senior bakers.

Key ResponsibilitiesBakery Production

  • Assist with the preparation of breads, pastries, doughs, and other bakery items following Brix Café standards.
  • Support dough mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking processes.
  • Help prepare fillings, glazes, toppings, and finishing touches for bakery products.
  • Ensure consistency in texture, flavor, and presentation of baked goods.

Daily Operations

  • Assist with mise en place and daily production tasks as instructed by the Chef de Partie or Pastry Chef.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
  • Properly store and label ingredients, ensuring correct stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Report shortages, quality issues, or equipment concerns to supervisors promptly.

Quality, Hygiene & Safety

  • Follow HACCP guidelines and maintain strict food safety standards.
  • Maintain personal hygiene, grooming, and cleanliness in all work areas.
  • Ensure all finished products meet Brix Café’s quality and freshness standards.

Teamwork & Support

  • Work collaboratively with the bakery and pastry team to ensure smooth production flow.
  • Assist fellow Commis team members as needed.
  • Support other pastry or kitchen sections during busy periods if required.
  • Take directions effectively from senior bakers and chefs.

Qualifications

  • 6 months–1 year of bakery or pastry experience preferred (freshers with strong passion may also be considered).
  • Basic knowledge of bakery techniques, ingredients, and food handling.
  • Strong desire to learn and grow in a high-quality pastry environment.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings and weekends.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
