Job description
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of hot dishes under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to recipes, quality standards, and portion sizes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hot kitchen section at all times.
- Properly store ingredients and monitor stock levels to avoid wastage.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation guidelines strictly.
- Assist in receiving and checking deliveries to ensure quality and proper storage.
- Work closely with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
- Contribute ideas for menu development and special dishes when required.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality of all hot food items.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef de Partie or management.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a professional hot kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of hot kitchen techniques (grilling, roasting, sautéing, frying, braising, etc.).
- Basic understanding of international and local cuisines.
- Ability to follow instructions and recipes accurately.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety practices.
