Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Commis I – Sushi Chef to join our fine dining kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sushi preparation, excellent knife skills, and the ability to maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation in a fast-paced, premium environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare sushi items with precision, consistency, and attention to detail
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and freshness of all ingredients
  • Maintain high standards of presentation in line with fine dining expectations
  • Assist in daily mise en place and kitchen operations
  • Follow strict hygiene and food safety standards at all times
  • Keep the workstation clean, organized, and well-maintained
  • Handle and maintain kitchen tools and equipment properly
  • Support senior chefs during service and ensure smooth kitchen operations
  • Monitor stock levels and report any shortages or quality concerns
  • Work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in a similar role within a reputable or fine dining restaurant
  • Strong knife skills and experience in sushi preparation
  • Knowledge of handling fresh ingredients and maintaining quality standards
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Professional attitude and willingness to learn
