Commi II

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Commis II to join our kitchen team. The Commis II will take a more active role in food preparation and cooking, supporting senior chefs while maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency. This role is ideal for candidates who have foundational culinary experience and are ready to take on greater responsibility in a professional, health-focused kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Prepare and cook food items according to established recipes and Dieture’s quality standards.

· Assist senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and ensure timely food production.

· Independently handle basic cooking tasks with minimal supervision.

· Ensure consistency in portioning, taste, and presentation of dishes.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations at all times.

· Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control and requisitioning.

· Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO method).

· Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP compliance).

· Support receiving, inspecting, and storing kitchen supplies.

· Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues promptly.

· Minimize food wastage through efficient preparation and handling practices.

· Guide and support Commis III staff when required.

· Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Chef or Executive Chef.

Requirements:

· Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a similar position (hotel, catering, or food production environment preferred).

· Good knowledge of kitchen operations, cooking techniques, and food preparation methods.

· Ability to work independently and follow recipes with accuracy.

· Basic understanding of stock control and kitchen organization.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills.

· Knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices (HACCP).

· Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
