Commis 1 (Pastry)

We are seeking a talented and passionate Commis 1 (Pastry) to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in pastry and bakery preparation, creativity in dessert presentation, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing, baking, and presenting pastries, desserts, and bakery items according to recipes and standards.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation of all pastry products.
  • Support the Pastry Chef and Chef de Partie in daily kitchen operations.
  • Maintain proper storage and labeling of all ingredients and finished products.
  • Follow HACCP and food safety procedures at all times.
  • Keep workstations clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Assist with inventory, stock rotation, and requisition of supplies.
  • Contribute ideas for new pastry and dessert creations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as Commis 1 (Pastry) or similar role in a hotel or restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry and bakery production.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Culinary or pastry diploma/certificate preferred.
