Commis 1 (Pastry)

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and talented individual to join our pastry team as a Commis 1 Pastry. The Commis 1 Pastry will assist our senior pastry chef in all aspects of pastry production, from preparation to presentation. The ideal candidate should have a passion for pastry arts, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced culinary environment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of pastry doughs, batters, fillings, and toppings according to standardized recipes.
• Operate baking equipment such as ovens, mixers, and proofers to bake various pastries, cakes, bread, and desserts.
• Assist in the decoration of cakes, pastries, and desserts using piping bags, molds, stencils, and other decorative tools.
• Maintain accurate inventory records of pastry ingredients, supplies, and tools.
• Adhere to strict sanitation and hygiene standards in the pastry kitchen, including proper handling and storage of ingredients and cleaning of work surfaces and equipment.
• Ensure that all pastry products meet quality standards in terms of taste, texture, and appearance.
• Collaborate with senior pastry chefs in developing new pastry recipes, menu items, and seasonal specials.
• Work closely with other members of the pastry team as well as kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely production of pastry items.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve pastry skills and knowledge through on-the-job training and self-study.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a pastry kitchen is preferred but not required.
• A culinary degree or equivalent training from a recognized culinary institution is a plus.
• Strong passion for pastry arts and a desire to learn and grow in the field.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to AED2,500.00 per month
