Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of all MEP for all sections in the kitchen with strict adherence to recipes, under supervision of Senior chefs.
  • Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions, containers are regularly changed & date labels are in place.
  • Ensure MEP is always freshly prepared and on time. Do not leave MEP outside on the cooling rack. Do your task from start to finish.
  • Follow the cleaning schedules for the kitchen and clean sections and other areas as directed.
  • Receipt and storage of all produce, fresh & frozen, in accordance with HACCP regulations, including correct stock rotation & storage. Ensure food is labelled clearly and correctly.
  • Assist with plate presentation when required.
  • Follow strict health & hygiene standards.
  • Keep production records up to date for items prepared by yourself.
  • Ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
  • Learn & record skills and recipes from Senior Chefs.
  • Reliably carry out instructions handed down to you by Senior Chefs.
  • Report any maintenance issues to Senior chef on duty immediately.
  • Monitor and assess performance of self, to make improvements and show growth.
  • Give full attention to what other people are saying, always be aware of what is happening around you, to assist without being asked.
  • Effectively follow and adhere to recipes, making no changes or alterations. Consistency is key.
  • Flexibility and willingness to learn & help other chefs during busy times.
  • Multitask, keep focus & work efficiently under pressure.
  • Constantly strive to grow your knowledge of best cooking practises.
  • Ensure all food items are properly stored, labelled with correct dates.
  • Ensure all equipment and smalls are clean, in good working order and stored in its place.
  • Ensure fridges, shelves and dry stores are clean and in order. FIFO

Candidate requirements:

  • Self-Control – Job requires maintaining composure and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations, accepting criticism.
  • Attention to Detail – Job requires being careful about detail and thorough in completing tasks
  • Cooperation – Job requires being pleasant with others and displaying good-natured, cooperative attitude.
  • Formal training in Culinary Arts or at least 2 year practical culinary experience will be beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,500.00 per month
