Avari Hotel Lahore is looking for a Commis-3:
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior chefs in preparing and serving food items according to approved recipes and standards
- Prepare daily mise en place for the next day’s operations
- Support in cutting, chopping, and basic food preparation tasks
- Assist in cooking and preparation of special orders for banquet and à la carte service
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and workstations at all times
- Clean all tools, equipment, and work areas after use
- Handle kitchen equipment with care and responsibility
- Follow instructions given by supervisors and senior chefs
- Maintain personal hygiene standards as per hotel policy
- Attend on-the-job training sessions and skill development programs
- Ensure food quality and presentation standards are consistently met
- Follow strict hygiene and sanitation guidelines as per HACCP and regulatory standards
- Comply with Punjab Food Authority food safety requirements
- Wash hands and use sanitizers regularly during work
Cultural Awareness & Relationship Management
- Coordinate with restaurant staff regarding service requirements
- Coordinate with store team for timely food issuance and supplies
- Work closely with kitchen team in a professional and cooperative manner
Job Requirements
Education:
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years culinary experience preferred
- Fresh candidates or certified apprentices may also apply
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong team player with willingness to learn
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of hygiene and food safety standards
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of HACCP principles is an advantage
Language Requirement:
- Basic understanding of English
- Fluent spoken Urdu
Working Conditions
- Work in a high-temperature kitchen environment
- Exposure to ovens, burners, cooking fumes, and kitchen equipment
- Physically active role requiring stamina and focus
