Commis Chef

Job description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Commie Chef to join our culinary team. This entry-level position is ideal for an aspiring chef looking to build a strong foundation in a professional kitchen environment. Under the guidance of senior chefs, the Commies Chef will assist with food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and learn various cooking techniques.

What you will do:

• Assist senior chefs in the preparation and cooking of food items according to recipes and standards.
• Chop, dice, and prepare vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including proper storage of food and equipment.
• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Assist with inventory management, including receiving and storing deliveries.
• Learn and master various cooking techniques and knife skills.
• Follow instructions accurately and efficiently from senior chefs.
• Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school certification/diploma is a plus
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
• Physical stamina to handle cleaning tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation principles is a plus
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends if needed.
• Hardworking and with friendly attitude.
