Job description:
We are looking for a motivated and passionate Commis Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in food preparation, particularly sandwiches and salads and also basic knowledge of pastry (sweets) is a plus. This position is ideal for someone who wants to grow in a professional kitchen and be part of a creative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble sandwiches, salads, and light menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist chefs in basic food preparation tasks such as cutting, marinating, mixing, and plating.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen and prep areas.
- Ensure all ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated according to food safety standards.
- Support senior chefs in daily kitchen operations and mise en place.
- Follow hygiene, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
- Contribute to a positive and team-oriented kitchen culture.
- Show willingness to learn new recipes, cooking techniques, and kitchen procedures
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or similar environment
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good communication and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn, grow, and take on new responsibilities.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Pay: KD260.000 - KD300.000 per month
