Commis Chef (Pastry)

Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Commis Chef (Pastry) to join our culinary team in Ras Al Khaimah. The ideal candidate will have a love for pastry arts, a creative approach to baking and dessert preparation, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and baking pastries, desserts, cakes, breads, and other baked items
  • Support the Pastry Chef in daily kitchen operations and recipe execution
  • Ensure consistency, taste, and presentation in all pastry and dessert items
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and hygiene in the pastry kitchen
  • Monitor stock levels of pastry ingredients and report needs to the senior chef
  • Adhere to UAE food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Assist with daily kitchen preparation, service, and closing procedures

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Commis Chef or in pastry/bakery preparation (UAE experience preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, baking, and dessert preparation
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment
  • Strong English communication skills; Arabic is a plus
  • Must hold a valid own visa (freelance or spouse)
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills

  • Hands-on experience with chocolate work, cake decoration, or bread making
  • Knowledge of modern pastry trends and plating techniques
  • UAE Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain it)

Additional Information

  • Candidates must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Ras Al Khaimah before joining
  • Language Requirements: Fluent English (Required), Arabic (Preferred)
