Job summary/Role description

Commissioning Electrical Assistant executes the activities pertaining to his / her discipline in compliance with the quality requirements, health / environmental / safety regulations and following the stated procedures.
He / she reports to the Commissioning Electrical Supervisor.
He / she is assigned to the project by AVIMP Head of Department.

Duties and responsibilities

To implement the pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures for electrical equipment.
Execute with the assigned crew from the subcontractor all the activities pertaining to the discipline.
Ensure effective utilization of commissioning manpower and consumables.
Ensure the execution of vendor’s specialists field activities with the assigned resources from the subcontractor as per vendor’s representative plan.
Perform Checklist as per supervisor instructions.
Prepare the forms for all tests to be performed and ensure submission of the certificates, duly signed by involved parties for final handover to the certification engineer (QA / QC).
To assure the proper safety procedures are followed during cable tests (meggering, induction test), test of motors, transformers, relays, electrical panels etc.
Can be the authorized person designated by the site manager to receive or issue a permit to work according to the project permit to work procedure.
Assistance to supervisor for expediting of pending punch list Items in accordance with commissioning superintendent (COT) priorities.
Assistance to supervisor for coordination and supervision of construction support activities during the performance of the pre-commissioning, commissioning activities.

Knowledge & Qualifications

Experience

At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in construction of large oil & gas plants / EPC projects.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail, management skills.
Team-oriented skills, self-motivation and direction, with strong bias toward timely performance and problem resolution.
