The Communications and Development Manager is a key member of L’Arche Atlanta’s team, responsible for leading strategic communications and supporting the execution of fundraising initiatives. The Manager plays a central role in strengthening L’Arche’s visibility, fund development, and community engagement through digital and print communications.
This role works closely with the Director of Development and other team members to elevate the visibility of L’Arche, strengthen donor relationships, and share the stories that exemplify our mission.
The Communications and Development Manager champions, promotes, and supports the full life of L’Arche Atlanta, attending and documenting organizational events, participating in staff meetings, and taking part in formation opportunities.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communications (60%)
- Lead and implement an annual communications plan aligned with development goals, community engagement events, and organizational milestones.
- Develop and manage compelling content for newsletters, appeals, impact reports, and press releases — lifting up the voices and stories of Core Members and community life.
- Own L’Arche Atlanta’s digital presence, including managing the website, social media platforms, and email campaigns to increase reach and engagement.
- Ensure consistency of brand, voice, and message across all external-facing materials and platforms.
- Create and oversee design of print and digital materials (event invitations, flyers, reports, etc.) using Canva or similar tools.
Development Support (40%)
- Provide communications support for fundraising campaigns throughout the year, including annual giving, Giving Tuesday, year-end appeal, and major donor communications.
- Develop and continuously update a corporate pitch deck for solicitation of corporate and organizational prospects. Take lead on identifying, securing, and stewarding corporate sponsors.
- Support donor communications and stewardship efforts, including acknowledgment letters, impact updates, and engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with the Development Director to maintain donor database (Bloomerang).
- Assist with promotion of events and post-event stewardship.
- Collaborate with the Director of Development on grant reporting, proposals, and prospect research.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit communications, fundraising, or marketing roles.
- Demonstrated success managing multi-channel communications strategies and fundraising campaigns.
- Strong writing and editing skills with an eye for storytelling and voice.
- Proficiency in communications tools (e.g., Mailchimp/Constant Contact, Canva, WordPress, and social media platforms).
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Deep alignment with L’Arche’s mission of inclusion, belonging, and mutual relationship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with or alongside people with intellectual disabilities or in inclusive community spaces.
- Design and photography/videography skills.
- Data-minded with a creative heart—able to balance mission-driven messaging with strategic fundraising goals.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
