The Communications Consultant or Senior provides marketing communication consulting services as a member of the External Communication team at APS. Demonstrates strategic thinking and proactive planning and works with minimal direction. Develops and executes strategic marketing communication plans aligned with our brand voice that support customer programs and solutions. Contributes to discussions and decisions related to planning and goal setting. Provides counsel and support to department leadership.
The Communications Consultant Senior performs an informal leadership role, providing counsel to other communications consultants and communication representatives.

Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, English or related field and five years related communications experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
1) Consults with internal business partners to assist achievement of their respective business goals. This includes advice on strategy, positioning, messaging and media mix.
2) Develops project timelines and action plans to ensure project goals are met in a timely and quality manner.
3) Works with internal and/or external business partners and executives to measure satisfaction with department work, whether through formal surveys or informal discussions. Provides feedback to team members to ensure continued improvement.
4) Develops strong collaboration across all communication departments to ensure alignment and consistency. Often represents entire department on key strategic projects and serves as lead on some cross-department projects.
5) Maintains a broad-based knowledge of business or industry technologies and issues, including specific knowledge of the electric utility industry.
6) Manages resources within time and budget constraints by coordinating the use of internal suppliers, vendors and outside agencies.
Hybrid: Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person).
In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in-person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non-home office) location.
