Communications Coordinator

The Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is seeking a dynamic Communications Coordinator. You will support our public outreach, media coordination, and daily office operations. This role works closely with leadership to maintain transparent, professional community relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Media & Public Relations: Assist with media inquiries, public information requests, and drafting news releases.
  • Digital Management: Update office websites and create engaging social media content.
  • Community Engagement: Coordinate and attend local meetings, events, and outreach initiatives.
  • Operational Support: Provide administrative, scheduling, and workflow assistance across departments.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain professional ties with law enforcement, partner agencies, and the public.

Qualifications

  • Education: College preferred in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Experience: Three (3) years in communications, public relations, media relations, marketing, administrative support, or related field preferred.
  • Skills: Exceptional written communication, strong multitasking abilities, and digital platform proficiency.
  • Requirements: Must pass a background check and sign a strict confidentiality agreement.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Standard office environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Occasional local travel required for meetings and community events.
  • Ability to sit at a computer and lift up to 10 pounds.
