Communications Manager

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

The Company

Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client are working together to source an experienced and qualified Communications Manager for their team in Abu Dhabi. We’re looking for a candidate ideally with a background in the mining sector or energy or who has worked in agencies who have handled communications for mining or energy clients.


Key areas of expertise should include communications strategy, crisis communications, stakeholder engagement, external communications, and team management


Responsibilities

1. Strategic Communication Leadership

  • Develop and implement a cohesive communication strategy tailored to complex, multi-market operations.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on communication risks, opportunities, and messaging, particularly for operations in high-impact regions
  • Thought leadership management

2. Media & Public Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local and international media.
  • Lead crisis communication and reputation management efforts, ensuring consistent and timely messaging in high-stakes environments.
  • Prepare press releases, key messages, media kits, and Q&A documents.

3. Content Development & Brand Management

  • Oversee the creation of engaging content for internal and external platforms (e.g., reports, speeches, newsletters, digital channels).
  • Ensure brand consistency and alignment across all communication materials.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Manage communications with key stakeholders including government entities, community groups, partners, and employees.
  • Drive community relations initiatives that support social license to operate in mining regions.

5. Internal Communications

  • Strengthen internal communication channels to promote alignment, transparency, and employee engagement across field sites and corporate offices.
  • Collaborate with HR and operations teams to support internal campaigns and culture-building initiatives .


The Requirements


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in the mining, energy, or infrastructure sectors or Agency with scope in mining.
  • Proven success in managing communications in challenging markets or developing regions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong understanding of stakeholder dynamics in resource-rich environments.
  • Proactive and agile, able to work in a challenging and multi-cultural environments
  • Experience in media crisis handling, content strategy, and community engagement.
  • Travel is required (on site)
