Communications Manager

Position Description

Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES) is seeking a Communications Manager to join the Strategic Marketing and Communications (SMAC) team. The Communications Manager supports both internal and external marketing efforts and serves as one of the primary photographers for the department. The position reports directly to the Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications.

General Responsibilities

  • Creates, edits and maintains content, photography, and graphics presented on the school’s website using Finalsite.
  • Maintains specific areas of the school’s parent portal, including but not limited to the school’s main calendar, parent resources, and event forms..
  • Compiles and edits e-blast content for internal newsletters.
  • Maintains up-to-date contact lists as well as the timely scheduling of all e-mail marketing efforts.
  • Photographs special traditions and events around campus as well as day-to-day activities throughout each division.
  • Collaborates with the Graphic Designer to execute the school’s advertising campaign, maintaining media contacts and timely placements.
  • Collaborates with the Social Media Coordinator on producing engaging text, image and video content highlighting school activities for social media channels.
  • Collaborates with the SMAC team on other tasks including the creation of the annual marketing plan and calendar, website analytics, SEO efforts, publications, and proofreading.
  • Responsible for coordinating and leading blog calendaring and identifying writers for the blogs in collaboration with the full SMAC team.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills across digital platforms.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (Finalsite preferred) and email marketing tools.
  • Working knowledge of SEO, analytics, and digital marketing best practices.
  • Strong photography skills and an eye for visual storytelling.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively across teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to modeling the mission and values of Christ Church Episcopal School and its Episcopal Identity
  • Desire to engage in the life and culture of the school, including community events, after-school activities, and programs such as clubs, performing groups, or athletic teams.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field
  • At least three years of progressive experience in marketing, communications, or public relations
