Communications Manager

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Developing and implementing strategic communication plans for agency initiatives, programs, and public outreach efforts.
  • Writing, editing, and distributing high-quality communication materials including press releases, newsletters, speeches, reports, website content, and digital communications.
  • Serving as a primary media contact by responding to inquiries, coordinating interviews, and preparing media talking points and Q&A materials.
  • Managing and growing the Department's social media presence and digital communications efforts.
  • Ensuring communications are clear, accurate, consistent, ADA compliant, and aligned with the Department's mission and priorities.
  • Collaborating across divisions to identify and promote agency programs, initiatives, and consumer resources.
  • Monitoring emerging issues and assisting with communications related to time-sensitive or high-visibility matters.

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate who has a:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or a closely related field and two (2) years of related professional experience; OR
  • Associate's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or a closely related field and four (4) years of related professional experience.
