Communications Manager - Policy

TI is seeking a highly qualified, experienced communicator to join our team in Washington, D.C. as a policy communications advisor, focused on U.S. federal and state policy. This new position will play a pivotal role with our government relations, communications, and legal teams, developing communications initiatives and driving key messaging to support the company’s objectives. This role will have the opportunity to engage with internal and external stakeholders and support TI government relations advocacy.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive policy communications strategy that supports the organization’s business and thought leadership goals, and advocacy priorities.
  • Drive major, cross-team and cross-functional policy and legal communications initiatives in support of key business and policy objectives.
  • Provide proactive, detail-oriented support to executives for public-facing engagements, with key industry associations, policymakers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with communications teams at key industry associations to ensure TI positions are represented in public statements and materials.
  • Develop issue briefs, talking points, fact sheets, scenario analyses, and other resources for Executive Leadership and government relations team to use to understand and communicate the impact of emerging policy and relevant issues.
  • Create materials and resources for TI’s government relations team that clearly articulate and advocate for TI’s position on key policy matters.
  • Provide strategic counsel to corporate communications, brand marketing and other key business stakeholders on issues and initiatives pertaining to the government relations and legal teams.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with colleagues and executives in the government relations, communications, and legal organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or related field.
  • 5+ years of public relations, public affairs, or related work experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to articulate complex policy issues clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Strong understanding of media relations, public policy issues, and legislative processes.
  • Experience partnering with external partners such as trade associations or other outside groups.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a high attention to detail and adherence to tight deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration skills and a results-driven mindset.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working across government relations & legal teams to drive business objectives. Or, experience working inside government or trade association offices, especially at the federal level.
  • Experience in semiconductor, technology or related industries.
  • Strong consultation skills.
