United Lutheran Seminary seeks a detail-oriented, organized, and reliable Communications & Marketing Coordinator to support day-to-day communications across digital, print, and social platforms. Working closely with (and supervised by) the Senior Manager, Communications & Marketing, this role focuses on executing the seminary’s communications through website updates, email newsletters, social media content, and routine design work.
This is a production-focused role responsible for ensuring consistent, high-quality delivery of ongoing communications. The Coordinator works within established strategies, templates, and workflows, contributing to a steady flow of communications that support the seminary’s mission and engagement with its audiences.
This position is ideal for an early-career professional with strong technical skills who enjoys producing high-quality work, managing multiple recurring tasks, and contributing to a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Update and maintain website content using the seminary’s content management system.
· Produce email newsletters and routine email communications using established templates and schedules.
· Draft and post day-to-day social media content, adapting messaging to an established institutional voice; monitor engagement.
· Design graphics, flyers, and digital assets following brand guidelines and existing visual standards.
· Support communications for campus events, academic programs, admissions, advancement, and student life.
· Assist with basic photography and video logistics as needed; organize and maintain digital asset libraries.
· Manage routine administrative tasks, including maintaining communications calendars and coordinating with external vendors as needed.
· Assist with tracking basic engagement metrics (email, web, and social media) and preparing reports to support communication assessment.
Qualifications:
The qualified candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of producing consistent, high-quality communications in a deadline-driven environment, with strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
In addition, they will have a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or a related field; a minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, or public relations; proficiency with graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite; experience with website content management systems (WordPress or similar); strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt to an established institutional voice and follow editorial direction; strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and recurring deliverables; ability to work within established systems, workflows, and communication strategies; strong interpersonal skills and commitment to collaborative work.
Preferred qualifications include basic photography/videography experience; familiarity with email marketing platforms and basic analytics tools; experience in higher education, non-profit and/or faith-based organizations.
This position may be based on either the Gettysburg or Philadelphia campus, with periodic travel between campuses and occasional evening/weekend responsibilities.
