About the Role

Temple Beth Elohim (TBE) is seeking a dynamic, creative, and strategic Communications & Marketing Manager to help tell our story, amplify our values, and invite deeper engagement across our vibrant community. This is a highly visible role for a talented storyteller and content creator who thrives at the intersection of creativity, collaboration, and purpose.

You will shape how TBE communicates—across email, web, social media, print, and video—ensuring our voice is warm, clear, inspiring, and consistent. From Shabbat and learning to social justice, caring connections, and development, your work will help people feel informed, welcomed, and connected.

Key ResponsibilitiesStorytelling, Content & Strategy

  • Serve as a lead storyteller for TBE, translating programs, values, and community life into compelling narratives across platforms
  • Create, edit, and curate engaging content for email, website, social media, print, and videoPartner with clergy, senior leadership, staff, and lay leaders to shape messaging that is authentic, inclusive, and aligned with TBE’s vision and values
  • Participate in strategic planning and big-picture analysis to ensure communications meaningfully support engagement and participation

Email & Digital Communications

  • Manage and produce congregation-wide and targeted email communications using Constant Contact
  • Design email templates, compile content, edit copy, and schedule sends
  • Maintain a communications calendar to balance messaging and avoid over-communication
  • Provide guidance and support to staff and volunteer leaders on effective email communications

Website & Calendar Management

  • Manage and update TBE’s website using WordPress, including landing pages, blog content, and program pages
  • Maintain and oversee the website calendar to ensure accuracy and clarityCollaborate with program leaders to design and build web presence for new initiatives and events

Design & Visual Communications

  • Design promotional and informational materials including flyers, posters, signage, brochures, handbooks, and digital graphicsWork across Canva and Adobe InDesign to meet a range of design needs
  • Ensure visual consistency and brand alignment across all materials

Video & Multimedia

  • Collaborate on video concepts, scripting, and storytelling
  • Support video production workflows, including timelines, edits, and distributionManage and grow TBE’s presence on YouTube and other video platforms

Social Media

  • Manage and grow TBE’s social media presence across platforms including Facebook and Instagram
  • Create and curate content that increases engagement and reflects community lifeMonitor performance and adapt strategies to improve reach and impact

Collaboration & Administration

  • Work closely with the Director of Communications, Development team, clergy, and staff partners
  • Provide writing and editing support for leadership communications, including speeches, letters, and campaign materials
  • Support internal systems including Salesforce, ensuring accurate data flow for communications and campaigns
  • Adapt quickly to evolving needs and priorities in a dynamic congregational environment

Skills & Qualifications

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience as a content creator across digital and print platforms
  • Strong design sensibility and comfort working in Canva and Adobe InDesign
  • Experience managing email communications (Constant Contact strongly preferred)
  • Proficiency with WordPress or similar CMS platforms
  • Experience managing and growing social media channels
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM systems
  • Video production experience (planning, editing, or project management) a strong plus
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort working with clergy, staff, and volunteer leaders
  • Enthusiasm for learning and adapting in a mission-driven environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, English, or a related field preferred (or equivalent professional experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in communications, marketing, or related fields preferred
  • Familiarity with Jewish communal life is helpful; Hebrew proficiency is a plus but not required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $60,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience
