<Job Overview>
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Communications Officer to join our team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating responses with law enforcement, medical personnel, and other emergency services. Your expertise in communication technology, law enforcement procedures, and crisis management will ensure swift, accurate information flow during critical moments.

<Responsibilities>

  • Answer multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and conflict management skills
  • Dispatch law enforcement officers, emergency medical teams, and other responders efficiently using GPS and GIS tools
  • Conduct phone triage to assess incident severity, prioritize responses, and gather essential information quickly
  • Maintain accurate data entry, transcription, and detailed incident logs while adhering to security protocols
  • Utilize analysis skills to evaluate incoming calls for potential threats or urgent situations
  • Apply medical terminology and first aid knowledge when communicating about medical emergencies
  • Manage security procedures during high-pressure situations, ensuring confidentiality and proper protocol adherence

<Experience>

  • Previous experience in EMT roles or emergency dispatching is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and multi-line phone systems
  • Strong understanding of law enforcement operations and medical terminology
  • Proven ability to handle phone triage, conflict management, negotiation, and data entry efficiently
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on clarity, professionalism, and active listening
  • Experience in transcription or report writing related to emergency response is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail
