The Office of the Hudson County Prosecutor is seeking a dynamic detail-oriented individual to work as an evening Communications Operator. The hours of work are Monday through Friday from Noon to 8:00 p.m. The hours are subject to change based upon the operational needs of the Office.
DUTIES: Include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring communications from HCPO law enforcement units and documenting appropriate information in law enforcement logs;
- Using the New Jersey Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) databases for Law Enforcement purposes (training will be provided in the use of these databases);
- Providing assistance to investigative staff and compiling data and generating reports as requested;
- Creation and management of records, log books and law enforcement activity;
- Coordinating communications, including taking & making calls, responding to emails and interfacing with members of our Office, local agencies and partners;
- Sustaining a high level of professionalism and meticulous attention to detail; and
- All other related duties and tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Include, but are not limited to:
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred but not required;
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and the comfort and ability to become familiar with our Office specific software programs and databases;
- Strong attention to detail;
- High level of self-motivation;
- Strong professionalism and demeanor at all times;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality; and
- Valid New Jersey State Driver’s License.
