Description:
To support the district in efforts to engage parents, students, staff, and community members to increase their involvement in and support of District 300 through the strategic use of communication tools.
Essential Functions:
Executes communications, marketing, and public relations actions to support District 300's Strategic Plan, as guided by the Director of Public Relations and Communication Services
Monitors the District 300 website and all school websites for accuracy and provides consistent updates
Maintains all District 300 social media accounts and generates content on a consistent basis
Produces content for the District 300 website and all school websites
Promotes and publicizes District 300 news, activities, events through various formats, including press releases, website updates, newsletters, and social media posts
Assists in the development and enforcement of a visual brand identity for District 300
Collaborates with the district's Graphic Designer to provide copy for print graphics
Creates copy for the following (but not limited to): brochures, fliers, tri-folds, posters, postcards, advertisements, outgoing messages (including emails and RCS messages) and major publications including annual reports, marketing plans, communication plans, and procedure guides
Creates and produces original copy for the district's digital display signage
Brainstorms, creates, and designs promotional marketing items
Sets up, records, and edits videos (training will be provided as needed)
Takes high-quality photographs for publication use (training will be provided as needed)
Plans, organizes, and leads events, meetings, and trainings
Serves as a liaison with the District's translation department to ensure consistent communication is provided to all stakeholders
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or other formal training in communications, English, journalism, or marketing. Will consider candidates who hold a Bachelor's degree in a different area but demonstrate clear communications skills.
Must be able to work a flexible job schedule which includes days, evenings, weekends as needed by the department
Must have transportation to commute to and from school buildings
Compensation:
This is a year-round position

Full-time, Non-union Hourly Position
Salary Grade 13: $$25.23 per hour
