Cornerstone Community Church is a Christ-centered church in Greeley, Colorado, committed to spiritual growth, biblical teaching, and serving our community with love and excellence. We are seeking a Communications Specialist who will use their creative and organizational gifts to clearly and consistently communicate church life to our congregation and the broader community.

Position Summary

The Communications Specialist supports the mission of Cornerstone Community Church by managing internal and external communications across print, digital, and in-person platforms. This role ensures messaging is clear, engaging, consistent, and aligned with the church’s values and ministry goals.

This position reports to the Church Business Administrator and collaborates closely with church staff and ministry leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Church Communications & Content

• Create, edit, and distribute weekly communications including announcements, bulletins, Friday email updates, and internal messaging.
• Ensure written content is accurate, consistent, and aligned across platforms.
• Collaborate with ministry leaders to promote services, events, and programs.
• Design and produce slides, bulletins, signage, brochures, inserts, advertisements, and digital materials.
• Prepare content for sanctuary presentation software, lobby screens, website, and social media.
• Maintain and update the church website with current information, events, sermons, and ministry resources.
• Create, schedule, and manage social media content.
• Build and manage email campaigns (desktop and mobile optimization).
• Create and manage digital forms and event registrations.
• Assist with building calendar management and membership records.
• Participate in staff and worship planning meetings.

Strategy & Evaluation

• Develop improved and more efficient communication strategies.
• Collaborate with leadership on communication campaigns.
• Analyze engagement metrics (email, website, social media) and recommend improvements.

Collaboration & Culture

• Attend staff meetings, planning meetings, and select church events.
• Foster positive and collaborative working relationships.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support the church’s mission.

Qualifications

Spiritual Qualifications

• A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a growing faith.
• A desire to use communication gifts to support the spiritual growth of the church.
• A life grounded in Scripture, humility, and Christian community.
• Alignment with the mission, values, and theological beliefs of Cornerstone Community Church.

Professional Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of related experience.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high commitment to quality.
• Excellent organization, time management, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt in a dynamic ministry environment.
• Experience with graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience managing social media platforms.
• Experience creating and managing email campaigns and analytics.
• Ability to analyze engagement data and improve communication effectiveness.
• Team-oriented with a servant-hearted attitude.
• Fluency in English.
