Job Summary:
The Communications Strategist will play a key role in strengthening Wildlife SOS’s media presence, social media engagement, and storytelling initiatives. This role focuses on writing, coordination, and execution across media, digital, and donor communications, while supporting press outreach, celebrity visits, and events. The candidate will also help guide junior team members and ensure consistent, high-quality output across communication channels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Press & Media Relations
- Draft and distribute press releases, feature stories, and media pitches.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, and media outlets.
- Track daily news and identify relevant opportunities for Wildlife SOS coverage.
- Support in organizing press meets, interviews, and media visits to Wildlife SOS centers.
- Assist in preparing statements and handling media responses during crisis situations.
2. Content Development & Storytelling
- Research and write blogs, articles, donor updates, and other communication materials.
- Visit Wildlife SOS centers to gather on-ground stories and visuals.
- Collaborate with the design and digital teams to create engaging multimedia content.
3. Social Media & Digital Content
- Contribute to social media content planning and campaign execution.
- Draft post copy, captions, and short-form content to highlight rescues, stories, and events.
- Track engagement metrics and help optimize content performance.
4. Events & Celebrity Engagement
- Coordinate logistics and communications for celebrity visits, press shoots, and awareness events.
- Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth event execution and media coverage.
- Represent Wildlife SOS at public events, exhibitions, or outreach programs when required.
5. Donor & Stakeholder Communications
- Draft donor updates & reports, and thank-you notes in coordination with fundraising teams.
- Ensure timely communication and consistency in messaging across donor materials.
6. Team Support & Guidance
- Assist in guiding junior communications team members and reviewing their work.
- Help maintain the yearly calendar and team trackers.
- Contribute to documentation and training materials for onboarding new team members.
7. Additional Responsibilities
- Support in monitoring media coverage and preparing weekly media reports.
- Maintain and update media contact databases.
- Explore new formats such as behind-the-scenes videos, short reels, or interactive posts to enhance storytelling.
- Collaborate with external PR agencies and freelancers when needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
