Position Summary

Support the Volunteer and Community Access departments of Hospice by increasing awareness of our programs and services, through community engagement, development of printed materials and informational content, and volunteer management. Facilitate outreach efforts in the community on behalf of Hospice of Health First and coordinate internal resources to ensure coverage and representation.


Primary Accountabilities

  • Support marketing in the creation/design/review of all deliverables, brochures, educational materials, community outreach materials, sponsorships, and outreach opportunities. Provide clear direction on deliverables to all internal and external stakeholders for each timely project, event, or campaign.
  • Oversee inventory and marketing promotional items, collaterals, and materials according to budget
  • Create ongoing content designed for social media posts, and working in partnership with the Marketing & Communications department, to promote volunteer recruitment and grow overall Hospice brand recognition.
  • Coordinate, develop, implement and lead marketing events, educational opportunities and community activities geared to support awareness of services.
  • Foster positive, long-term professional relationships with community organizations, including various types of service industries, health fairs, community coalitions and senior-focused organizations.
  • Work in coordination with the Community Access Manager to develop objective based, and implementable marketing plans, to achieve increased access of and admissions from identified markets.
  • Identify new community events to increase access and maintain Hospice visibility.
  • Coordinate with other Health First initiatives, such as but not limited to, case management, marketing, sales team, palliative care, clinical liaisons and admission teams to support Hospice goals.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, onboarding and required annual competency assessment and evaluation for all hospice volunteers (new and existing).
  • Chair the Self-Care Committee and lead peers in engaging all associates in various team building activities throughout the year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, business or related field
  • Work Experience: Two years’ experience with a service organization, preferably in an outreach/community/customer facing role
  • Licensure: N/A
  • Certification: Eligible Level II background fingerprint screening
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Communication – oral, written and auditory
  • Customer focused
  • Time management
  • Autonomy balanced with collaboration to achieve results
  • Muti-task simultaneous projects

  • Work Experience: Preferred knowledge of hospice, healthcare environments
  • Licensure: N/A

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (ADA, Travel, Environment, Noise)

Sit for 2-3 hours; frequently stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk and lift, carry or maneuver 10 – 20 lbs. unassisted. Flexibility in work schedule to meet needs for community/outreach events. Frequently operate a vehicle and travel county wide. Occasional travel outside of county if needed. Environment varies from office to outdoor activities therefore noise levels will vary from low to loud, based on conditions, locations and environment.
