Community, Marketing & Events Manager (Part-Time, 1099)

The Developer Collective – Tampa Bay
St. Petersburg, FL (Local Candidates Only)

About Us

The Developer Collective (TDC) is a private, invitation-only community for real estate developers, builders, investors, and industry professionals throughout Tampa Bay. We focus on high-level collaboration, education, networking, and supporting the next generation of development leaders.

We host monthly mastermind sessions, site walks, private networking meetups, and quarterly developer events designed to strengthen relationships and unlock opportunities.

We are looking for a Part-Time Community, Marketing & Events Manager to support the CEO behind the scenes and help run the operational, marketing, and event components of the TDC experience.

The CEO is the face of the organization—you will be the operations and marketing engine that keeps everything running smoothly.

Position Overview

This is a part-time, contract position (~20 hours/week) ideal for someone who is highly organized, social, detail-oriented, and excited about the real estate development industry. This role combines community management, event planning, light marketing, social media, and member support.

You’ll help execute two monthly events, coordinate quarterly developer networking events, strengthen the community experience, manage social media presence, assist with membership growth, and support communication across the organization.

A support/admin employee will assist with invoicing, CRM entry, marketing materials, and onboarding tasks so you can focus on events, engagement, and marketing.

Key ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Coordination

  • Plan and coordinate two monthly events (Mastermind + Networking/Site Walk)
  • Plan and manage four quarterly developer networking events
  • Handle event logistics, RSVPs, venues, speakers, vendors, and check-in
  • Ensure smooth execution so the CEO can host effectively
  • Capture or coordinate event content (photos/videos)

Community Management

  • Support new member onboarding (with admin assistance)
  • Maintain communication in group chats and email lists
  • Monitor member engagement and organize touchpoints
  • Provide a clean, professional, organized member experience

Marketing & Social Media

  • Manage TDC’s Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts
  • Post 3–5 times weekly (event recaps, community updates, promotions)
  • Increase visibility, engagement, and inbound leads
  • Coordinate content with support staff

Recruitment & Outreach

  • Attend industry events (ULI, TBBA, REIA, etc.) to support networking
  • Identify strong prospective members
  • Assist with follow-up, scheduling, and nurturing leads
  • Ensure smooth communication leading up to CEO decision calls

What This Role Is NOT

  • You are not the spokesperson or public face—CEO handles that
  • You do not make final membership decisions
  • You do not manage additional employees
  • You do not handle invoicing, CRM entry, or graphic design (admin support handles these)

Qualifications

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with social media posting and light content creation
  • Experience in event planning, marketing, or community management is a plus
  • Professional, reliable, and proactive
  • Interest in real estate or development preferred
  • Able to work flexible hours, including occasional evening events
  • Must live in the Tampa Bay / St. Petersburg area

Compensation

  • $2,000/month base pay (Part-Time, 1099)
  • $500 per new paid member you source or meaningfully nurture
  • 20% share of sponsorship revenue you help generate or manage
  • Performance bonus may be awarded at CEO discretion
  • Equity opportunity: Up to 20% equity in the company is available with performance and vesting.
