Community Banking Representative (Bank Teller)

Summary:

The Community Banking Representative serves as the front-line service banker for Frontier Bank prospects and customers seeking to start and grow a relationship with our bank.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrates Frontier Bank of Texas values: HONESTY, LOYALTY, DEPENDABILITY, LEADERSHIP, COMMUNITY, RESPECT
  • Accepts and accurately processes all financial service transactions including but not limited to deposits, payments, transfers, cash advances and withdrawals.
  • Responsible for a teller cash drawer and follows proper balancing and cash handling procedures.
  • Follows all established operational procedures to ensure compliance with the Bank’s security policies.
  • Prepares cash drawer requirements and performs verification and reconciliations to meet cash needs of the automated transaction machines (ATMs) and Teller Cash Recyclers (TCRs).
  • Processes the night depository transactions and mail transactions.
  • Receives and processes stop payment and reg cc holds.
  • Processes wire transfers and provides confirmation as requested by the customer and per the Bank’s policy and procedures.
  • Assists customers with account maintenance including address changes, check and deposit slip orders, debit card orders, cashier's check issuance and answering general questions.
  • Grants customer access to safe deposit boxes.
  • Performs accurate and timely capturing of daily work to verify and balance daily totals and final teller and branch values.
  • Provides a high level of professional and courteous service while observing due diligence for the validity of the transactions.
  • Maintains a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all employee and customer information confidential and secure.
  • Contributes to a team environment to service customer needs by answering incoming telephone calls and any additional duties assigned.
  • Determines appropriate personnel to handle sales opportunities and complex customer service issues. Follows up to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Completes outbound customer calls as needed to support sales and service.
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties including but not limited to the completion of required documentation, daily verifications, maintenance and organization of department files.
  • Participates in audits, investigations, reviews, request for information and special projects as assigned.
  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of the Bank's products and services.
  • Completes all required annual training and seeks opportunity for continuous professional development.
  • Performs job functions in compliance with all Bank policies and federal, state, and local laws and regulations as applicable to the position, including, but not limited to BSA/AML (Bank Security Act/Anti-Money Laundering), OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) and GLBA/privacy rules (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act).
  • Effectively works with teams inside and outside of a branch environment.
  • Understands how to formulate appropriate open-ended questions that spark conversations resulting in uncovering financial needs of customers, prospects and community members.
  • Leverges our software programs such as S&P Global to conduct effective research on prospects and utilizes that information for intentional prospecting efforts and cold calling.
  • Eager to learn and master how to sell our advanced Digital Banking solutions, including all our top-rated Treasury Management products, mobile, online, debit cards, credit cards, and related services.
  • Develops an interest in sales and service duties related to onboarding new customers and deepening relationships with existing customers.
  • Engages in a needs-based approach to determine customer needs and responds with solutions that fit those needs.
  • Develops skills and knowledge to assist customers in opening and onboarding new deposit accounts and related services.
  • Partners with management to source and win business, including new deposits, loans, and related services.
  • Actively seeks participation in community events, CRA activities, and other opportunities to represent Frontier Bank with distinction.
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned by the leadership team.

Qualifications:

The individual must be able to perform each essential duty in a highly successful manner as determined by the bank’s Board of Directors. Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • 3 years related banking experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • College level course work in finance, business management, and/or accounting, or equivalent training, is encouraged.

Language and Communication Ability:

The individual must be able to articulate, communicate, and display the Frontier Bank of Texas values. The individual must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals and literature, laws and regulations and legal documents. The individual must have the ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, regulatory agencies, members of the community, shareholders, and others. The individual must have the ability to effectively communicate in writing to many audiences, including shareholders, Board of Directors, executives, CEO, customers, and others.

Reasoning Ability:

The individual must have the ability to define problems, solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. The individual must have the ability to interpret technical instructions and to deal with abstract and concrete issues.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as: Excel, Word, Teams, and Outlook. Must be familiar with a multiline phone system. Ability to learn new products quickly.

The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate or less.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this job. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
