Through our Community Coaching and Engagement program, we support individuals in developing social connections, building life skills, accessing community resources, and actively participating in their communities.
We are seeking a passionate, organized, and innovative Community Coaching & Engagement Manager to lead and oversee this important service.
Position Summary
The Community Coaching & Engagement Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating community-based services designed to promote inclusion, independence, personal growth, and community participation for individuals with developmental disabilities. The manager will oversee community coaches, develop community partnerships, ensure service quality, and support individuals in achieving their personal goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Leadership & Development
- Lead and oversee the Community Coaching and Engagement program.
- Develop meaningful community-based opportunities that promote inclusion and independence.
- Create and implement strategies to increase community participation and social engagement.
- Ensure services align with person-centered planning principles and individual goals.
- Monitor program effectiveness and implement improvements as needed.
Staff Supervision & Support
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate Community Coaches.
- Provide ongoing coaching and professional development to staff.
- Ensure staff maintain compliance with agency policies and service standards.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
Individual Support & Service Coordination
- Collaborate with individuals, families, support coordinators, and interdisciplinary teams to develop community engagement opportunities.
- Assist individuals in identifying personal interests, strengths, and goals.
- Support participants in building independent living, social, communication, and self-advocacy skills.
- Monitor progress toward individualized outcomes and document achievements.
Community Partnership Development
- Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses, recreational programs, volunteer organizations, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, and community groups.
- Identify opportunities for employment exploration, volunteerism, recreation, and social inclusion.
- Serve as an ambassador for Hope and Harmony within the community.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of service documentation.
- Monitor compliance with DBHDS regulations, agency policies, and waiver requirements.
- Maintain records related to program participation, outcomes, and community activities.
- Prepare reports for leadership regarding program performance and participant outcomes.
Quality Improvement
- Monitor participant satisfaction and program outcomes.
- Analyze engagement trends and recommend improvements.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Healthcare Administration, Recreation Therapy, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or related populations.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory or program coordination experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Experience with Virginia Medicaid Waiver Services and DBHDS regulations.
- Experience in community engagement, vocational services, case management, or disability services.
- Knowledge of person-centered planning and positive support practices.
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
